Our website address is: http://deepimagery.net/festival/. This is a separate sub-domain of www.deepimagery.net, the website of the international Institute for Visualization Research (IIVR). It is separate in that the user information on this site is not shared with the either the main website (www.deepimagery.net) or any of the other sub-domains (deep imagery.net/events, deep imagery.net/directory etc.) This sub-domain is used by the organizer(s) of the annual Deep Imagery Conference to advertise the event and to provide information for attendees.
Your contact information
If you are a visitor to the subdomain/website www.deepimagery.net/festival, we do not collect any permanent data unless you choose to fill in a contact or registration form. Please read our section on “Contact Forms.”
Because we use wordpress, cookies may be in use during your visit to the website. Please read the section on cookies below.
We do not allow the public to set up accounts on this site. We collect no data on users.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Contact and Registration forms
Our forms collect your name and email address as well as whatever information you choose to share with us via the form. Our contact forms do not store your data online or in a database. They facilitate your communication with the Festival organizers by sending an email to the festival email address.
The Festival organizers will use the information you supplied to answer your query. If, in order to deal with your query effectively your information needs to be shared with any other person other than someone who is involved in the Festival (registration, receipts, etc.) we will explicitly ask for your permission to do this. Your information will not be stored or used for any other purpose other than to answer your your query.
Your name and postal (Mailing) address is needed so that we can send a receipt of payment. All other information collected is used to facilitate the organization of the Festival.
Comments are disabled. We do not therefore collect any data regarding comments.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your data with
For Festival registrants, we will need to share some of your information with Deep Inner Space, Austria. DIS is an Austrian non-profit which assists the IIVR in organizing the Festival of the Animals. It will be responsible for sending you your receipt of payment. It is obligatory that we provide receipts/Rechnungen for your payment. Therefore your name and postal address will be shared with DIS. Deep Inner Space has agreed to delete all your information as pertains to Festival of the Animals by December 31, 2018.
You will have the opportunity at the Festival to signup for email lists or other facilities offered by both the IIVR and DIS. Your Festival registration will not be used for anything other than facilitating the Festival itself.
How long we retain your data
For registrants for the Festival, your information is not stored on this website. Instead, the information from forms is sent to the organizers of the festival at the festival email address. The organizers of the festival retain your information only for the duration of Festival activity, including a period after the festival when the final accounting takes place. The festival email account which is created each year in the format “festival(year)@deepimagery.net is deleted at the latest by December 31 of the year in which the festival takes place.
You will have the opportunity at the Festival to sign up for other email lists or imagery events. The data you share for the purposes of registering for the festival is not shared elsewhere without further consent being requested.
What rights you have over your data
You can request to receive a file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
The data you submit for the purposes of registering for the festival is sent only to the Festival organizer. If you require a receipt, your name and postal information will be shared with Deep Inner Space.
Your contact information
Your contact information is only used for the purposes of facilitating your registration and attendance at the Festival and in order to provide a receipt.
How we protect your data
The IIVR limits access to the data on this site to the webmaster. Additionally, we have purchased an SSL certificate for the website to ensure data is encrypted. The website does not store your information in anyway. We do not share information gathered through the contact or registration forms.
